What we do with your information

Short version: we collect what you send us on the contact form, we use it to reply, and we do not pass it to anyone else.

Who we are

Central Hub builds bespoke management software for businesses in the United Kingdom.

For anything about your data, contact us using the details on the contact page.

What we collect

When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, and anything else you choose to type, including company name, phone number and sector. We also record the IP address the message came from, which helps us deal with spam.

If you accept analytics, we also collect anonymous statistics about how this site is used: which pages are visited, roughly which part of the world you are in, and what kind of device you are on. Your IP address is shortened before it is stored, we cannot tell who you are from it, and we never join these statistics up with anything you send us through the contact form.

Why we hold it, and for how long

We hold it so that we can reply to you and, if we end up working together, so we have a record of how the conversation began. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you chose to send.

Enquiries are kept for two years from your last contact with us, then deleted. If you ask us to delete yours sooner, we will.

Who else sees it

Your enquiry goes to us and nobody else. We do not sell, rent or share enquiry details with third parties, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

Two suppliers handle data on our behalf, under contract and only for the purpose we set. Our web host stores the website and its database. Google provides the analytics described above, if you have accepted it, and may process that data outside the UK under the safeguards in its own terms. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every website using the browser add-on Google publishes.

Cookies

This site sets cookies in two situations.

The first is the contact form. It sets a session cookie named PHPSESSID, which holds a random token proving the form you submitted is the one we gave you. That is what stops automated abuse. It contains nothing about you, it is deleted when you close your browser, and it is never used to track you between visits or across other websites. Because it is strictly necessary for something you asked to do, it does not require your consent.

The second is Google Analytics, and only if you say yes. When you first arrive we ask. Nothing loads until you choose Accept, and choosing Decline loads nothing at all. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by a code, which tell one visitor from another without naming anyone. They last up to two years unless you clear them.

We use these statistics only to see which pages are useful. We do not use them for advertising, we do not sell them, and we do not connect them to your enquiry.

Your choice is remembered in your browser's own storage, not in a cookie, under the name ch-cookie-choice. You can change your mind at any time using the button below, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will act on it within one month, usually much sooner.

If you think we have handled your information badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
